No More Binky!!!!

Here is one of the reasons why we have finally gotten rid of Sammy's pacifier: anterior openbite. I've conceded the fact that you can't be a pediatric dentist if your own son has a binky all the time and can't bite a chip with his front teeth! We'll have to see how long it takes to get those front teeth together.

Take it from one who sucked way too long ... on the right handed thumb in spite of the hated hay rake... Tongue thrusts come back to haunt you even in your very late thirties.

No one should have a restaurant named El Tapitio unless it's located on Rockville Road.

Ani had a TOTAL open bite because of the binki. It seriously took less than a month (I think) for her teeth to come together. No long term damage. (Unless I can blame her bad attitude on her binki.)

Looks like an anterior open bite to me, not a crossbite. Am I missing something?

You are a dentist, you can take care of any problems....by the way, I have a question for you. When should you start having your kids use adult toothpaste and spit it out and everything, and is whitening toothpaste bad for kids?

kids can use it as soon they can spit it out. the pnly problem is they shouldn't ever swallow the toothpaste if it has any fluoride in it. whiteening shouldn't be a problem, unless it causes sored in their mouth in which case you could consult a dermatologist!

Well, I am quite the lucky one because I happen to have a dermatologist handy if any sores should appear.

Thanks for the advice. Isn't it great to have such smart friends!

Do your kids use adult toothpaste yet?
