Secret Aspirations

...well not that secret...
I recently read one of my high school friend's, we'll call her Sara, Christmas Letter. I was totally jealous. Sara is attending culinary school. I love cooking and already have culinary plans for my retirement, in fact I might do it now if it wasn't for this dentist thing they have me doing right now!

So here is the plan: Upon retirement I want to buy a house on Clarendon Ave in San Francisco and attend the California Culinary Academy. Or maybe we'll buy a house (again) near the water in Rhode Island and I'll train at Johnson and Wales.

The point is I love to cook and have an underlying desire to become a chef!

*way to go Sara!

I'm in. I'll be your sue chef -- or gym chef. I feel ya. I'm not sure where the urge has come from but I'm feel'n it. It's probably the fact that our DVR is used primarily for the Food Network. So here's to life at the CCA or the CIA; and we're not talking the central intelligence agency.

did you know they have shredded cheese in bags now?

I never liked the cheese in the cubes. I fell in love with Gouda in Germany.

I will teach you how to cook Doug. I have 2 retired doctors in my classes, so you aren't the only one with the aspiration. You chose the better field though, destistry pays a whole lot more than $8 an hour (my partner is the head pastry chef at Ritz Carlton and that's what they pay their chefs). I'm glad you got my card. Yours is still up on our cabinet--I'm a little late in taking down Christmas.

Doug, I did not know you were so into cooking. That is great! Do you cook much at home now? I would love to go take some cooking classes as well, as soon as my kids are in school.

I was visiting Sara in October and she taught we a few good recipes. She is a great cook!! :)

Have you ever thought about photography? You take great pictures. Have you taken a class ever before, or is it just a hobby of yours?
